RINTI approached us at short notice: to coincide with the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the scene of a dog running from an existing advert was to be enhanced using AI video editing to include a football, complete with a flying ball on the end card. The result was broadcast live on TV and CTV, as well as specifically during the three-minute drink breaks in six World Cup matches on ARD and ZDF.
The source footage already existed, though it didn’t feature a ball at all: just a dog running, plus an end card with no ball movement whatsoever. We used AI compositing to enhance both to tie in with the World Cup – realistically integrating a football into the running scene and adding a flying ball to the end card, in each case adapting them to the movement, lighting and perspective of the existing footage. We had only a few days to complete the entire project.
Traditionally, this would have required either a new day’s filming with a dog and a ball, or days of manual compositing. Instead, AI automatically handles motion analysis, shadow casting and timing, delivering a result where the post-production work is imperceptible.
This is precisely where AI-powered video editing really comes into its own: rather than scheduling a whole new shoot for spontaneous occasions, existing footage can be adapted in no time at all – seasonally (such as for Christmas or the summer sales), regionally (for different markets and languages) or, as in this case, for specific events like the World Cup. All without the need for a new location or a new day’s filming. We have long been using this type of AI integration into existing footage not only for RINTI, but also regularly for other projects.
The latest RINTI advert is a fine example of just how much short-term flexibility AI-powered video editing already enables today.
